You may wonder why it’s referred to as an ‘island experience’ when it’s in the middle of the city. Well this exotic waterfront retreat is nestled between the dramatic peaks of Table Mountain and the roaring Atlantic Ocean, and boasts an ‘island’ in the middle of the waterfront waterways leading into the greater waterfront area. Imagine spending sun-soaked leisurely days by glistening pools or basking in relaxation at their island spa, and balmy evenings sampling local flavours at the exquisite Nobu or one of their other restaurants. Its the perfect island staycation you’ve always been dreaming of. And with various travel restrictions from other countries thanks to Omicron, locals can now get exceptional availability over the peak season.
Highly recommended is to stay in one of their island suites. With views of the canal, you’d be forgiven to think you were somewhere in Europe or one of the Indian Ocean Islands. And that’s exactly what makes One&Only Cape Town so unique and special. Situated in the midst of the best views Cape Town has to offer, yet with an exotic twist.

AFRICA’S ONLY NOBU, THE PLACE TO BE
A definite highlight of your stay will be dinner at Nobu. Delight in Japanese-Peruvian flavours in the city’s most famous restaurant. Savour the trendy atmosphere of the world’s most revered Japanese restaurant and discover a modern medley of Japanese classics fused with Peruvian flavours – the brainchild of Michelin-starred chef Nobu Matsuhisa.
Every bit as good as any other Nobu world-wide, you will be able to explore exotic new flavours like you’ve never experienced before. A definite highlight is their Black Cod. If you’d like to experience a bit of everything, especially their signature dishes, then we can highly recommend their Omakase Set Menu. Match it with an exotic cocktail or two or one of their various saki offerings, and you’re in for an evening you won’t soon forget.
NOBU HAS GONE VEGAN
Also noteworthy is Nobu Cape Town’s newly introduced vegan and vegetarian offerings. The two new Omakase set menus elevate plant-based ingredients to new heights and are comprised of six dishes each, crafted with the intention of giving diners a few delicious meat-free alternatives to its signature Omakase menu. ‘Omakase’, meaning ‘Chef’s choice’ in Japanese, offers a menu ‘from the heart’ and resembles a tasting-style menu designed to impress guests with a creative and curated selection of dishes reflective of Nobu’s exceptional Japanese cuisine with Peruvian influence.
The Vegetarian Omakase provides diners with an authentic Nobu experience, crafted largely from plants, with the inclusion of dairy and eggs. Guests can expect variations on Nobu classics such as Crispy Rice with Avocado and Butternut Puree and the famous Baby Spinach Salad Dry Miso, or brand-new dishes such as Daikon Steak with Vinegar Miso and Quinoa Salsa, or Mushroom and Vegetable Toban Yaki (roasted in a ceramic plate) with Anticucho Sauce.
The Vegan Omakase, offers a similar culinary experience, yet contains no animal by-products. Dishes include Vegetable Tacos, a vegan Sushi Selection served with Vegetable Consommé, Tempura Vegetables, and a Seasonal Fruit Cobbler with Coconut Sorbet for dessert.
Alternatively, guests can order from their à la carte menu, which includes the restaurant’s world-class selection of sushi, hot and cold dishes prepared using only the freshest produce, line-caught fish, and premium cut meats. An irresistible assortment of desserts and an extensive wine and cocktail menu are also on offer. Nobu Cape Town spans two floors and boasts sleek, contemporary décor, with the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended.
