QiGong, directly translated as Energy Work, is a powerful art that can help you move energy in both the physical and etheric body through precisely practiced conscious movements. Some call QiGong – Meditation in Motion – but it’s much more than that. QiGong will teach you how to become aware of the energy (or Qi) flow in your body and how to cultivate, move and transform this energy. It will also teach you the ancient Tao secrets to living a balanced life and the 3 states of fearlessnesses to help you though tumultuous times. The 1 day retreat also incorporates ancient Chinese Medicine principles that will help you understand your body, how it functions, and how to avoid disease or unbalanced physical or emotional states, if practiced diligently. Because of the simplicity of this art (although there’s a lot of complexity in this simplicity), you can take what you’ve learned with you, and incorporate it into your daily life, through regular practice.
Your retreat guide is renowned TaiQi & QiGong Master, Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Energy Healer, Shirfu Dr Michael Youde Lan (Liu), who comes from a long line of ancient Chinese Masters. Tuidi Lâoshī Michelle Festus will be your host and the Tshwane retreat will be hosted on her sustainable family farm, which has strong Koi San roots and a beautiful energy. The Joburg workshop, which takes place at Gaya Habitat for Art & Healing, also has a powerful energy, something that will add to the retreat experience. Enjoy a healthy organic lunch fresh from the farm, along with local herbal tea.
Please note: the QiGong you will learn stems from one of the most ancient and sincere styles of QiGong taught, and is unlike many of the modern forms that are generally both diluted and primarily designed for show (not effectiveness).
